Who am i?
Hello, my name is Michael and I am a newly-admitted (Autumn 2021) graduate student at Concordia University doing my Master's of Science, thesis-based. I am quite excited to be beginning this journey at long last. It has been roughly three years from the moment when I first set my ambitions towards this objective... And now I've arrived!
what motivates me
Since a young age, I have always had a curiosity for the natural sciences. My schooling continuously challenges my framework of the world and motivates me to further pursue my interests academically. I hope to one day apply this knowledge firsthand in a field setting for nothing would be more humbling than to study the environment... within the environment!
Background
As an undergraduate, I completed my Bachelor of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in the Honour's Environmental Biology program of McGill University.
Professionally, I've had the pleasure of the following:
With these experiences, I have had my interests finely molded towards urban ecology and soil ecology. The marriage of the two, urban soil ecology, manifests itself prominently in my Master's research.

Professionally, I've had the pleasure of the following:
- working as field assistant at the Gault Nature Reserve of Mont Saint Hilaire, Québec
- working as an environmental patroller for two not-for-profit organisations: Les amis de la montagne at Mount Royal park and Nature Action Québec in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie (Montréal, QC)
- working as an urban forestry technician for Le groupe DESFOR, a private consultation company working tightly with la Ville de Montréal
- working as a supervisor of community projects for the Service de l'environnement et de l'écocitoyenneté at la Ville de Laval, Québec
